A Little Bit About the Sherwood Restaurant
Family owned and operated by Dennis Duce, the Sherwood has been a Brantford dining landmark
for the last 47 years. Throughout those 47 years, the Sherwood has had only one goal in mind; to serve their customers good quality food at
reasonable prices in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Every detail of the Sherwood's operation comes
under Dennis' careful scrutiny, from the meat lockers to the sugar bowls in the front booths. You'll
often see Dennis working in or around the dining rooms. He might even have been the very friendly
carver who sliced your roast beef for you.
Not everyone wants to eat fast fried burgers; people are more health conscious nowadays. For these
discerning diners, the Sherwood is an excellent alternative. There are special nutritional diet meals
that are cooked without oil or salt. Be sure to try one for your heart's sake! The Sherwood is fully
licensed by the LLBO, so if you prefer, you can enjoy a mixed drink or a glass of wine with your meal.

The Sherwood offers an excellent menu in our main restaurant featuring a wide selection of steaks, seafood,
schnitzel, chicken and roast beef, at reasonable prices. Diners have a choice of seating arrangements,
depending on their state of mind. In both the booths and the dining room (right) the menus and service are
the same. The booths are very bright and surprisingly comfortable, but the dining room is still the
location of choice for many of the Sherwood's patrons.
Plentiful seating arrangements, amid classic chandeliers provide a restful and relaxing environment. While
enjoying the Sherwood's fine cooking, most patrons enjoy the many paintings which adorn the walls. Both
the paintings and the large mural at the end of the dining room were painted by the Sherwood's builder, Mr.
Ernest Duce.
The foyer to the Nottingham Room also leads to the two handicapped rest rooms. The entrance to the foyer
leads from an exterior ramp which leads to the pavement. This informal area is the perfect place for
guests to congregate before entering the Nottingham, as it leads to a cloak room for coats and footwear.
Bright and cheerful, it is a perfect entranceway leading to the full elegance of the Nottingham Room.
A life-sized Robin Hood (painted by Mr. Ernest Duce) welcomes visitors with folded arms, as if to say
"Eat Hearty".
Tasteful and relaxing, the Sherwood's "Nottingham Room" is the perfect setting for your banquet and
tour needs. Licensed for up to 171 persons, the Nottingham room is often used for smaller parties.
Frequently used for wedding receptions, Christmas parties, retirement and business suppers, the
Nottingham also does double duty as a convenient site for breakfast and luncheon business meetings.
This room's complete audio-visual equipment make it perfect for off-site training seminars or planning
sessions.

different than the standard menus, our catering staff would be more than happy to customize a menu that
